Cancellation and Refunds
Cancellation and Refunds
This page says how to stop paying for Coparia, what happens when you do, and when we refund. It is part of the agreement in the Terms of Service and is published by Coparia Labs LLC, a California limited liability company.
The short version
- Paid plans are not available yet. This policy is here before they are, so that nobody has to guess what they are agreeing to.
- Cancel whenever you like, yourself, without asking us or explaining.
- You keep the plan you paid for until the end of the period you paid for. Cancelling does not cut you off that day.
- Ask within 14 days of your first charge and we refund it in full, no questions.
- Cancelling never deletes anything. Your calendar, your schedules and your messages stay where they are, and the free plan keeps working.
- You can download your whole family record at any time, on any plan, including the free one.
Paid plans are not live
Coparia is free to use today, and there is nothing to cancel. We are publishing this before we charge anybody because a refund policy written after the first complaint is written by the complaint. When paid plans open, this is the policy they open under, and the version at the top of this page is how you can tell whether it has changed since.
How to cancel
From Settings, open your plan and choose to manage it. That takes you to our payment provider’s own billing page, where you can cancel, change your card, switch plans or download your invoices.
You do not need to email us, and you do not need a reason. If you cannot reach the billing page for any reason, write to support@coparia.app and we will cancel it for you. A cancellation that is hard to find is a cancellation we are hiding, and we would rather you left cleanly than stayed by accident.
What happens when you cancel
You keep what you paid for. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, not the moment you press the button. If you cancel on day three of a month you paid for, you have the rest of that month on the plan you chose.
Then you move to the free plan. Not to a locked account, and not to a read-only one. The free plan is the whole of Coparia’s core: the calendar, custody schedules, messaging, help requests, reminders and digests. What you lose is the paid extras, and only those.
Nothing is deleted. This is the part people worry about most, so it is worth being exact. Every event, every custody schedule, every message and every child stays in your family exactly as it was. Where the free plan has a lower limit than the plan you were on, the limit applies to adding something new. It never removes what is already there. If you had five helpers on a paid plan and the free plan allows one, you keep all five, and you cannot add a sixth.
Your record stays yours. From Settings you can download your family record, as a PDF for a person or a court and as JSON for a program, on every plan including free. That is deliberate and it is not something a plan can switch off. A record you cannot take out is not really yours.
Refunds
Within 14 days of your first charge, we refund it in full. Write to support@coparia.app and say you want a refund. You do not have to explain, and we will not ask you to sit through an offer first. The refund goes back to the card that was charged, and our payment provider usually returns it within five to ten business days.
This applies to your first charge on a plan, monthly or yearly, and it is the same 14 days either way.
After 14 days we do not refund unused time. You can cancel any day you like and you keep the plan until the period ends, but a part-used month or year is not refunded. That is the trade for being able to try the whole product on the free plan, for as long as you want, before paying anything.
We may refund anyway, and sometimes we should. If something went wrong on our side, if you were charged twice, if a renewal caught you after you thought you had cancelled, or if the product did not do the thing the page said it would, tell us. We would rather give the money back than argue about a policy.
If a payment fails
Nothing about coordinating your children stops working. The calendar, the custody schedule, the messages and the help requests stay fully available while your card is retried, and so does your co-parent’s access to them.
This is not an oversight and it is not generosity. Two parents losing the ability to arrange a medical appointment because a card expired is a safety problem, not a way to make someone pay faster. Only the paid extras pause. If the payment is never recovered, the plan ends and the family moves to free, with everything still in it.
If we end your plan
We can end a plan if the Terms of Service are broken. Where we do, the family moves to the free plan straight away rather than at the end of the period, and we will tell every parent in that family what happened.
If we end your plan for a reason that is not your doing, for example because we stop offering that plan or shut the service down, we refund the unused part of the period you paid for.
Price changes
We will not change the price of a period you have already paid for. If a price changes, it applies from your next renewal, and we will tell you before that renewal happens so that you can cancel first if you would rather not pay it.
Where we sell
Paid plans are sold to customers in the United States. If that changes we will update this page, and this section is how you can tell.
