Share when you have your children
If you are planning around somebody in another family, you can let them see which days you have your children. They see one marker per day, and nothing else about your family.
Before you start. They need a Coparia account already. Sharing does not create one for them.
Share your availability
- Select your picture in the top right corner, then Settings.
- Select Shared calendars.
- Type their email address under Their email address.
- Choose what they see. When you have your children is the smallest useful amount. You can also include Your events.
- Select Share my calendar.
What they see, exactly
With only the first option on, they see a free or busy marker on each day. No names, no children, no event titles, nothing about what you are doing.
If you also share your events, they see the title and time of events you are responsible for, and ones nobody is. They never see your co-parent’s events, a private event, or a medical one.
The thing worth thinking about first
Because every day is either yours or your co-parent’s, somebody reading your free days can work out when your co-parent has the children.
Your co-parent is not asked about this and is not told. That is a real consequence for somebody else, so it is worth being sure before you share, rather than discovering the implication later.
Stop sharing
- Open Settings, then Shared calendars.
- Find them in the list.
- Select Stop sharing.
It stops immediately. They are not sent a message about it.
When it does not work
It says they need an account. Sharing only works with somebody who already uses Coparia. Ask them to sign up first, with the address you are trying to share to.
They say they see nothing. Check the address, and check they have accepted. A share to the wrong address silently reaches nobody.
Open this in Coparia, where you can search every article and ask about your own calendar.
