What your child sees in Child mode
Child mode is made to be read by a child: big words, three places to go, and nothing they can break. This is what they see once a parent has set the device up.
Today
The first screen. It says where your child is today, such as “At Mom’s”, using what the children call each parent, and never an address. Below that:
- Next up: the next thing on their calendar.
- Their routines for today, each with its steps to check off and a ring that fills as they go.
- What is coming tomorrow, so the morning has no surprises.
Checking off a step on the device checks it off everywhere. You see it on your own Routines board, marked as done on their device.
Calendar
Their events, day by day, with handoffs and which home they are at. Only events that concern them appear: never events marked private or Just me, and never anything about another child. Event locations and notes appear unless you have switched them off in the child’s settings.
Lists
The lists a parent chose for them, such as a packing list for the weekend or a birthday wish list. Your child can add items, check them off and delete them. They cannot rename or delete a list, or make a new one. Whatever they add shows on your own Lists, marked as added on their device.
What your child cannot do
Child mode has no way to:
- Send or read messages.
- Ask Copie, or reach any AI.
- Change the calendar, a routine or anyone’s settings.
- See expenses, the journal, documents or Need to know.
- Share anything outside the family.
There are no ads, and nothing on the device goes to an advertiser or an analytics company. The privacy policy sets out exactly what Child mode collects.
When it does not work
The screen says it didn’t load. The device has no connection, or lost it. Your child can pull the screen down to try again. What was last loaded stays on screen to read, but checking off and adding items need a connection.
Something is missing or out of date. See the checks in set up your child’s own iPad or phone.
Open this in Coparia, where you can search every article and ask about your own calendar.
